Kara is a work-from-home wife, mother, and graduate of Wayne State University Law School. She was raised in a very conservative, Christian denomination, but as she got older, she began asking questions and finally decided to branch out beyond her comfort zone and find God for herself. She developed a passion for learning about spirituality, the meaning of life, and the importance of unconditional love. That journey eventually led her to the conclusion that believing in something doesn’t mean anything if your beliefs don’t inspire and empower you to live authentically, love more deeply, and become a better person. The One Rule Church gives her the opportunity to continue to explore what she believes and why, and she’s excited to share her journey with you, to learn from you, and to grow with you.
David is a retired consultant for the Wayne County Clerk’s Office in Detroit, MI, where he formerly served as the Department Administrator. David had been deeply involved in his church for nearly three decades when he began seeking God for himself. Learning to truly believe that he was loved unconditionally has changed his whole outlook on life and inspired him to share the knowledge of that love with as many people as he can.
Renee is an Occupational Therapy Assistant and a vocalist. A wife and mother, she has been on a journey of personal growth and rediscovery. She has seen the transformational power of unconditional love firsthand, and her experiences with both being instrumental in others’ transformations as well as undergoing her own transformation have given her unique insight into the importance of incorporating love into every aspect of one’s life.
Elder Kim Finley is a resident of Detroit and serves as an Elder at the One Rule Church under the leadership of Pastor David Baxter. Elder Finley has been in ministry since 2008 and was licensed as a minister by the late Joseph Barlow, Jr. She initially served as an associate minister at Mt. Zion M.B.C. in Ecorse, Michigan. Elder Finley is the proud mother of two children and grandmother of 3. Elder Finley has always believed in being a life long learner of “Truth”. Sharing what she has learned and knows about spirituality and God is her mission in life. She has a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Business Communications, an Associates degree in Business Administration, a licensed Myomassologists, and Insurance Agent. She is active in her community serving with various community groups. Elder Finley’s love for the people of God and her passion for learning and teaching the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ is one of her core values.
Scott graduated from Detroit Engineering Institute in 1985 and applied those skills in the field of electronics. Scott has worked in the automotive industry at North American Lighting as an Electromagnetic Component Technician for the past five years. He has also worked at Ford Motor Company, and Visteon Corporation for the past 20 years. Scott is most passionate about the deep study of God’s word and has served as an Lay Pastor and Elder for over the past 30 years.
Rozelle is a graduate of the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and has been practicing in healthcare for over 30 years. One of her most valuable life lessons is that we are blessed to be a blessing. She is passionate about God’s people knowing and embracing who we are in relation to Him and to identify our purpose as His people.
